Scope

Dental treatment in Turkey: implants, crowns and veneers

The clinic determines the treatment plan, number of visits and choice of materials after a consultation and assessment of your oral condition. Below we describe what each procedure involves.

Dental implants

An implant screw made of titanium or a titanium-zirconium alloy fuses with the bone (osseointegration), replacing the root of a missing tooth. This process usually takes anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on bone density and volume — where bone is insufficient, a bone augmentation or sinus lift procedure may be needed.

Zirconia crowns · Ivoclar e.max

Used to rebuild teeth and improve the aesthetics of a smile. Zirconium oxide has high fracture resistance (up to roughly 1,200 MPa) and is biocompatible, so it also holds up well under greater chewing load. Modern multilayer zirconia combines this strength with a translucency close to that of natural enamel.

e.max veneers

Made from lithium-disilicate glass-ceramic, valued for its high translucency close to that of natural enamel. At just around 0.3–0.5 mm thick, they require minimal reshaping of the tooth and are permanently bonded (adhesively) to its surface. They can correct the color, shape and proportions of teeth — the clinic assesses suitability on a case-by-case basis.

Prosthodontics

Reconstruction of larger gaps. The scope and stages of treatment are planned by the clinic based on an X-ray and consultation.

Teeth whitening

A cosmetic procedure carried out after assessing the condition of the teeth. Results vary from person to person.

Restorative dentistry

Fillings, root canal treatment, cleaning — often carried out as preparatory work before prosthetic reconstruction.

Before you fly

How to plan your dental treatment in Turkey

The starting point is a consultation based on photos of your teeth and a current imaging study. Implant planning usually requires a CBCT scan, while aesthetic reconstruction calls for photos of the face and smile. The dentist assesses the condition of the teeth, gums, bone and bite, then prepares a preliminary plan.

The plan should clearly state which teeth need treatment, what material will be used, how many visits are needed, and which elements may change after an on-site examination. Flymedica shares this information in English, so you know the scope of treatment, the costs and the next steps before you book a flight.

Which implant systems does the clinic use

The clinic Flymedica works with uses Neobiotech, NucleOSS, Osstem and Straumann systems. The choice of brand depends on bone conditions, the prosthetic plan and budget — we recommend solutions whose parts are also available in Europe, which makes later servicing easier.

In some cases bone augmentation or a sinus lift is needed — the dentist decides whether your case requires this based on a CBCT scan.

Cross-sections

Crown, veneer, implant — what actually happens to the tooth

These three terms sound similar, yet they mean completely different degrees of intervention. It's worth seeing the difference before your consultation, because it determines how much healthy tissue has to be removed — and that can't be undone.

Prosthetic crown being fitted onto a prepared tooth with a dental instrument
Crown — the tooth is ground down to a stump, and a prosthetic cap is fitted over it, rebuilding the entire shape. The root stays in place. The most invasive of the three, since a layer of healthy enamel is removed all the way around.
Veneer being fitted to the front surface of a tooth with a dental instrument
e.max Veneer — a thin shell on the front surface of the tooth. It covers only what shows when you smile, so it requires removing far less tissue than a crown. Not every case qualifies.
Dental implant shown broken down into crown, abutment and screw placed in the bone
Implant — a threaded post placed into the bone where a root is missing. The thread provides stabilization right after the procedure, and its surface promotes osseointegration, i.e. fusing with the bone. Used when the tooth is already gone — it requires healing time, so treatment is spread over stages.

The photos are for illustration only and do not depict your specific case. Which procedure is possible is decided by the clinic after an X-ray and examination.

Selection criteria

Zirconia crown or E-max veneer?

When a crown is usually used

A crown rebuilds the entire visible circumference of the tooth and requires grinding it down. It is used, among other cases, for extensive fillings, discoloration, fractures, or after root canal treatment. Zirconia is a strong material, free of a metal substructure, and delivers a natural color.

When a e.max veneer is usually used

An e.max veneer is a thin ceramic restoration for the front surface of the tooth. It works well for correcting color, shape and minor irregularities — provided the tooth and gums meet the conditions for this type of treatment.

A e.max veneer isn't automatically better than a crown. The right choice depends on how much healthy tissue is involved and the dentist's recommendation — see the cross-section comparison above.

A name, not a procedure

What "Hollywood Smile" actually means

"Hollywood Smile" is the name of a result, not of a specific procedure — it describes a comprehensive change to the visible part of the smile. Depending on the condition of the teeth, the treatment plan may combine e.max veneers, crowns, implants, restorative treatment and gum contouring. The "magic number" of 20 restorations advertised here and there is just one example of a possible variant — the actual scope is determined by the clinic after diagnostics, individually for each case.

A good plan takes into account face shape, lip line, tooth exposure, bite and your own expectations. Before permanent cementation, you should approve the shape, length and color of your future teeth — not after the fact.

Edentulism and extensive gaps

All-on-4 and All-on-6 — a full arch supported on implants

A solution for people missing all or nearly all the teeth in an arch. Instead of placing an implant under every tooth, the entire fixed bridge rests on four or six implants.

Model of a dental arch with four All-on-4 implants and a fixed prosthetic bridge
All-on-4 — 8 implants (four per arch), 2 fixed prostheses on a titanium substructure with Ivoclar IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime zirconia. Fewer implants means a smaller procedure.
Model of a dental arch with six All-on-6 implants and a fixed prosthetic bridge
All-on-6 — 12 implants (six per arch), 2 fixed prostheses on a titanium substructure with Ivoclar IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime zirconia. Considered, among other cases, where greater mechanical demands are expected. Requires adequate bone volume.

The prices shown in the cards above adjust to the selected number of arches (toggle in the top-right corner of the card). Whether All-on-4, All-on-6 or another solution is possible in your case is decided by the clinic based on a CBCT scan and an assessment of bone volume — additional preparatory procedures, priced separately, may sometimes be necessary. Treatment is usually spread over two trips: placing the implants, and then, after healing, fitting the fixed restoration.

Questions and answers

Before you ask a consultant

How long does treatment take and how many times do I need to fly?

In many cases a single trip of around 5–7 days is enough. The exact plan, the number of clinic visits and the length of stay are determined by the clinic after an individual case assessment.

How much does a full smile reconstruction cost?

The starting points are the packages: 20 zirconia crowns with Ivoclar e.max porcelain from €4,225, 20 crowns or e.max veneers from €5,225. The final price depends on additional work — root canal treatment, extractions, implants or gum contouring.

Are zirconia crowns durable?

Zirconia stands out for its high strength, but the durability of the work depends on the individual case, the condition of the teeth and proper oral hygiene. The clinic issues the warranty terms.

What warranty do I get on crowns, veneers and implants?

Prosthetic work — crowns, e.max veneers, ceramic bridges and implant-supported work — is covered by a 5-year warranty from the date the procedure is performed. The implants themselves carry a lifetime warranty. The warranty is provided by the clinic that performs the procedure. Any problem must be reported promptly, no later than 3 days after symptoms appear, to kamil.kowalski@flymedica.pl. Full terms and exclusions are published on our guarantees page.

What's the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6, and how much does it cost?

With All-on-4, a total of 8 implants are placed across both arches; with All-on-6, it's 12. In both variants, 2 fixed prostheses on a titanium substructure with Ivoclar IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime zirconia are fitted. Prices for both arches: All-on-4 — €6,000, All-on-6 — €7,000. Which solution is possible is decided by the clinic after a CT scan and assessment of bone volume; treatment is usually spread over two trips.

Is the documentation from the clinic recognized in Poland?

The patient receives treatment documentation from the clinic. How it can be used for further treatment in Poland is determined on a case-by-case basis — ask a consultant about the scope of documents issued by the given clinic.

Can I come with family?

Yes. The clinic treats patients of various ages, and the scope of treatment is tailored individually. Accommodation terms for accompanying persons are arranged at the time of booking.
